I was cutting up peppers one day. Instead of throwing the seeds away I like I usually do, I decided to germinate them in hopes that they will sprout. I placed the seeds on a plate in between two paper towels to hold in moisture. Within a month, they started to sprout. The following gallery includes photos with descriptions of what I did next. The picture on the left one I took of the early morning sky in Walnut Hills. A talented student of mine painted a replica for me (on the right). What I like about the picture is the gradient from orange to yellow to blue. I also like how the buildings in the foreground turned out black. The steeple on the right is Saint Ursula Academy and the one on the left is the Saint Francis de Sales Church. The student who painted the picture just finished her sophomore year at Aves Academy. She will be attending a vocational school to advanced her skills in the arts.
Every year my family goes to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. We do things like play volley ball on the beach, explore the shops on the boardwalk, and hangout at the Dogfish restaurant. My family is large so we have to rent 2-3 houses each year to hold everyone. There is no greater recipe for happiness than being with family on a beautiful beach.

Neil Cypher-TierneyBiology is my favorite subject to study and teach! I have always been curious about the world around me. I appreciate the diversity and complexity of life. It is my mission to help students become life long learners of science. Some things about me: I love the outdoors, going on hikes, exploring new places, and traveling around the country.
